Centuries Historical Dance is searching for talented, dedicated
men and women who are
willing to commit their time and energy to weekly rehearsals and potential
performances.
Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm in College Park, MD
(private studio).
Dance experience required; Partnering
experience a plus.

2nd Annual Holiday Vintage
Dance!
at the Conservatory
on
Friday, December
17, 2004
8 pm - 11 pm
a candlelit evening of dances from the mid 1800s thru the mid 1900s, with
the fabulous live music of
Dave Wiesler on piano,
Alexander Mitchell on violin, and
Paul Oorts on mandolin.
Some food and drink will be provided
(though feel free to bring some if you wish).
Fancy or period dress is encouraged.
The Conservatory is located in College Park, MD, about a mile from the Univeristy
of Maryland.
*Advance registration is required.*
The cost is $20 per person. Reservations should be received by December 16.

Camus and Alex Bradley are proud to have been invited
to perform at
the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
in Cleveland, Ohio
This is a private event for the
Nestlé Company
on September 23, 2004
Renée and Alex will be presenting
"It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That
Swing:
The Evolution and Development
of Swing Dance"
The program was written by Renée and presented by Renée and
Alex at the
Society for American Music's annual conference, held this year in Cleveland.
The presentation is a 45-minute lecture/demonstration on Swing dance, its
development, and its many variants, including
Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, St. Louis Shag, West Coast
Swing, and Hustle. The lecture was enhanced with video examples and performances
of the dances choreographed by Renée.
These routines are now becoming part of Centuries' repertoire.
April 16,
2004:
Centuries has been taking a brief hiatus,
while
Founder Renée Camus and Dancer Alex Bradley
have been preparing for and celebrating
their Marriage!
May 22, 2004, in Adelphi, MD.
However, now that we're back, we've been steadily practicing
and continuing to build our repertoire.
In August, we will be attending the week-long
Holiday of Vintage Dance in Newport, RI.
